I AM ME.
Gender is much more than the binary system we are still taught. I AM ME was a campaign that advocated for a free, fluid and self-determined understanding of gender.
Styled by Dogukan Nesanir, the BOLD team appeared in a local Berlin poster campaign underpinned with social virality. Through the lens of a fashion campaign, we showed that fashion has no gender and that should be our mindset as well.
ALLES IST SCHWUL.
The anticipation of a gay lifestyle and the associated perception of existence is the basis of Pepe Moreno's work.
In his first German solo exhibition, together with BOLD, he addresses this assumption and provokes quite simply: ALLES IST SCHWUL. Because if everything is gay, nothing is gay. In other words, it becomes irrelevant. It should be irrelevant whether or not an individual is queer.
Today we are still facing extreme double standards. Women in Iran are murdered because they want to live freely. Women in Finland were drug-tested, because they enjoy life and women in the US are taken away the control over their own body. This is real.
Women everywhere are facing the brutality of double standards. Together with a curated list of artist friends, BOLD was aming to advocate for a better tomorrow.
